Warwick Climbing Club
The privacy of members and the protection of member data is taken seriously by Warwick Climbing Club (Club). Personal information supplied to the Club will only be used for club administration purposes; for communicating with you about your
membership and club related activities. We do this in accordance with GDPR Article 6: Lawfulness of processing with particular reference to Consent, Contractual Obligation and Legitimate Interests.
Your details will be accessible by Club officials but will not be shared with other club
members.
The Club is affiliated to the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) which attracts certain benefits primarily the BMC combined liability insurance cover (BMC Insurance). To be covered by this policy, members’ details are submitted to the BMC as part of their membership process.
Details submitted include: your name, address, phone number, date of birth and Next of Kin (NOK) name and contact phone number.
The BMC will use your data to communicate with you about your BMC membership which is separate to that of the Club. The BMC will contact you to invite you to create a ‘Member Profile’ which, amongst other things, allows you to set and amend your privacy settings. We will never share your data with any other party without your prior and express permission.
All emails sent by the system contain a tracking pixel. This is used to track whether each email has been opened by the recipient, and when. This information can be viewed by those users of the system with permission to view email delivery reports. We do not display any information regarding the location of the recipient. Note that the tracking pixel is only activated if the recipient chooses to download images into their email client.
We, Warwick Climbing Club, make use of the myClubhouse software supplied by Simmetrics Ltd to process personal data we include on our myClubhouse website in accordance with our privacy policy set out above. Simmetrics Ltd processes your personal data on our behalf and they can only do so in accordance with our written instructions. Note: Emails sent via the website are not entirely private. A copy of every email is held on the database and this can be accessed by certain club administrators using the Sent Emails page.
